July 15, 2022 - admin
This six-letter word is the most precious thing that we have. Only if your mental and physical health is good, you can enjoy life to the fullest. Often due to our daily routine which is full of hustle and bustle, we forgot to take care of our health. Only when our body or soul starts showing symptoms that something is wrong do we realize that we have to take care of ourselves. Seldom it is too late till this realization dawns upon us. The key is to nourish our body and soul as much as we can. This can be done more effectively during holidays when we get a lot of time.
Today in this blog we will check out certain tips and tricks that you can use to stay healthy through the holidays. So, let’s begin!
1. Make a Plan
Start with a plan! When you plan half of the work is done in advance. You won’t be lost in what, when, and how something needs to be done since you will have a ready plan in hand. Include your daily activities in the plan along with their timings. This will include your waking up schedule, workout schedule, schedule for your breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.
When you have everything planned, it would be much easier to stick to a healthy lifestyle. Ensure that the plan is not just written on paper but also implemented in reality!
2. Get a good sleep
Sleep plays an integral role in health. A good 8-10 hours of sleep helps the body to recover from the physical and mental stress and prepare well for the next day.
No doubt holidays are meant to stay late and enjoy with friends and family but not getting proper sleep may disrupt your travel plans. You will not be able to enjoy your holiday trip due to physical and mental fatigue. So never compromise your sleep on your holidays.
3. Exercise
There should be no holiday for taking care of your body. It is a must! No matter if it is a Sunday or your week-long holidays, always take some time to exercise. Missing a day’s workout breaks the exercise cycle and makes you dull. You may feel inactive or lethargic.
If you lag time at least make 15-20 minutes and do a little stretching, jogging, pushups, or whatever is possible. Exercise will not only boost your physical strength but also help you to remain active in your mind and spirit.
4. Take extra precautions while traveling
After Covid-19, traveling is not the same as before. There’s always a risk of contracting certain diseases. This means you have to take extra care while on your holidays. Always keep first aid with you and carry it wherever you go. Hygiene is very important for an enjoyable trip. Not only Covid-19 there’s a risk of many other bacteria and viruses that can affect you. Carry healthy snacks with you. If you have a disease or health issues, make sure that you carry all your medicines together. Don’t overeat junk food or food that’s not suitable for you. Always prioritize your health over your pleasure!
5. Let your heart talk
It’s holiday time! Don’t just give relaxation to your body but also to your soul. Maybe you have some unsaid stuff somewhere deep in your heart. Vent it out. Especially if you are with your close friend or family member, it is the right time to share what's bothering you. If you want to end your depression, anxiety, or stress, just speak what you feel and make this trip worthwhile!
6. Drink plenty of water
Keep yourself hydrated. Drink a lot of water. While traveling your body will demand more water, do fulfill that. If you do not drink enough your body will become dehydrated which will not only reduce your immunity but also brain power. With water, you can also consume some water-rich foods like watermelons, cucumbers, citrus fruits, etc.
7. Track your activity
Nowadays there are so many fitness trackers that you can attach to your mobile app for tracking your body’s activities. This is a beautiful investment. Track your activities - heart rate, number of footsteps, calories burnt, etc. This will help you to closely monitor your body and take necessary actions to fulfill gaps if any.
Holidays are fun!! Holidays are also days when you can take extra care of yourself. Above trips, if implemented well will help you to stay healthy not only for your holidays but also afterward. Remember, everything starts with your health. Only when you are healthy, you can do other stuff and live your life happily. Prioritize your health above everything else.
